On day 131, I captured the opponent's main city, then equipped the Cursed Armor and the Cloak, which prevents casting spells of levels 1-2 and has no stats. I lost to the opponent in magic, but I bought him off with 23 cyclops. I equipped the stats, had full control, and continued towards the center.
