Laughing aside, a couple of years ago, I had the idea to hold a tournament with exactly that name. :rolleyes:

A spot in the FB for the winner, essentially in a fan tournament, even without being tied to a rating, like, for example, in the novice league, IMHO, is too big of a reward.

This issue was discussed with me. I gave my approval, provided there were 64+ players. In my opinion, this is a sufficient quorum for the tournament to be a full-fledged one, and not just a small fan event. As for fan tournaments, most of our tournaments are fan-based.

In general, after the FB format was changed to 16 people, there are now as many as 10 qualifying spots from the OFB. Logically, it is much harder to win any tournament, even a fan one, than to get 10th place in the OFB. Therefore, it is fair to award spots in fan tournaments, provided that they are not quick, small-scale tournaments with 16 players in a single Best-of-One match, but full-fledged ones.

I am also ready to discuss allocating spots in the FB from other SOD tournaments, provided there is a similar quorum.

This new feature will apply to the next FB. In this FB and OFB, the number of spots is regulated.
