I think a game without overtime loses about 40 minutes, or even less. If all of the opponent's turns are longer than Ivan's, then we can assume that they will be playing equally for 7 turns. Ivan's average turn is 7 minutes – in my opinion, this is a quite plausible calculation. We can assume that this is like the game lasting 2 turns longer (we'll assume that 1 turn for both players in the late game is 10 minutes – usually they are longer).
So, I would advise Ivan to reconsider his position – is it worth giving up the semi-final of the tournament and playing with his favorite faction just because of 40 minutes?
