I also ran into the opponent there, luckily I had gathered 15k gold and was able to buy myself out. Because of this blunder, I got Gunnar with 30 30 stats and 4k movement points only on turn 135, even though I could have by turn 131. On turn 136, the opponent surrendered right before the attack.
