Could you clarify the situation with the 1.40 HD Rules version, which seems to be for HotA, and 1.38.2 for SoD?
I don't remember the exact sequence of events, but here's what my memory suggests (I might be wrong).
It seems that 1.40 was created by Wizard for Game of Thrones -1, to include the restructuring feature, but initially, the patch took Wizard a couple of months longer to develop than expected, and then it turned out that the patch had glitches in SoD (I remember Dave seriously winning a game by buying and using Gelu as intended, and in general, disabled heroes started appearing in the tavern on mirror maps).
In HotA, 1.40 didn't have as many critical glitches, although, as far as I remember, the guild restructuring still crashed the game.
At the same time, Wizard left for real life, so there was no one to fix the bugs. And a temporary solution was what YaR wrote – in SoD tournaments, they played on 1.38, and in HotA tournaments, they played on 1.40.
Then Baratorch and the HotA team took over. And in HotA, the HD mod patches are now disabled in principle; all the functionality is integrated into HotA and the mod (this is about the phrase "1.40 for HotA" – it's no longer the case). And for SoD, Baratorch created 1.38.2 – which includes the restructuring feature but has no critical bugs.
I assume that those who play on 1.40 are those who didn't fully understand the situation. Perhaps, by coincidence (no :D), these players don't like playing mirror matches, so they couldn't have encountered the problems.
And they are unaware of the hidden surprises of 1.40.
"For those who are too lazy to read a long text" (c) – it's safer to play with 1.38.2. :smile01:
(I assume that it won't be possible to disable the restructuring of the library with this version)
