Don't play unlimited mode; play rotation mode. If you encounter a tough opponent, you'll be completely defeated.

As for me, I've already completed all the missions. Everything is in unlimited mode except for the portal. But I can't seem to qualify for the tournament. It's an awkward feeling; it's like I didn't really want to, but it's still a bit disappointing.
