You don't need to tell me about chess; I know a thing or two about it. Blitz chess is very dynamic. But still, chess is a game between two opponents – this can be compared to Heroes of Might and Magic Online. (by the way, for many, this is also a way to maintain interest in the game). Completing maps can be compared to solving chess problems; it's a matter of taste, but for chess players, it's more like a necessity to stay in shape than some kind of entertainment. I'm saying all this because a competitive element is needed to maintain interest.
