What are you drinking right now?

Once, while reading the magazine "GEO," or maybe National Geographic, I saw a semi-advertisement about French cities from a tourist perspective, and Kronenbourg was described as nothing more and nothing less than "the capital of the best beer." This stuck in my memory, and now I have the opportunity to try a bottle. Of course, it's a licensed version, not the real thing, but whatever. The beer is very unusual. I'm encountering the "blanche" style for the first time, so maybe that's why it seems so different to me. Let's start with the aroma. From the bottle, it smells like ordinary, inexpensive beer, like Heineken, but in the glass, it opens up. It has a very mild, slightly malty aroma, but also very weak. Let's taste it: again, it's very, very mild, not at all hoppy, slightly sweet, with citrus notes. One person described it as "girly beer," and he's right in many ways, in my opinion. It's really very easy to drink, even though the alcohol content is normal. And this fashion-forward design, in my opinion, is very successful. It's visible from afar on the shelves. In conclusion, it's too bland for me, but overall a pleasant drink. It would be great on a hot summer day, not bad in the sauna, but I wouldn't drink it in other situations. If I ever find myself in France, I should try the original... 8/10

"This is not that" – I thought, after trying Hoegaarden after Kronenbourg. The aroma, at first impression, as some say, is "generic"; any beer could smell like that. In the glass/mug, it opens up with smoky notes, maybe with citrus in the background. The taste is also primarily smoky, slightly more hoppy than Kronenbourg, with no noticeable citrus or malt. It's heavier to drink, and again, it feels like "generic" beer. Overall, it's not bad, but I don't even know what it's for. If you want something lighter, Kronenbourg is better; if you want something "average" for the summer, a light summer beer is better; this is something in between, and it's hard to say when to drink it. It also feels very heavy on the stomach, like some kind of stout. In general, I don't even know. It's a good beer, but I'm unlikely to buy it again. 7/10
