I won't be surprised if, after some time, a strategy involving early Armageddon and rebuilding the 4th-level Guardian into an Armageddon unit becomes one of the main strategies.

Early Armageddon is unlikely. Too many factors need to align. And control is still more important.

However, in the late game, a strategy involving support units and Armageddon units does seem like a default strategy to me. Just like the strategy of "burn both archmages and unleash the shovel."
