I just think they told the truth that they acted alone. And it's probably true that they didn't contact the others (I'm not sure about Baar). Well, it just seems very likely, given the circumstances. Otherwise, they could have lied anywhere.
At least part of what they said is true, in principle. I'm not sure about the leaders being completely common knowledge. But they did reveal it.
