I'm just saying that Relkhiras is more dangerous in duels than on the actual battlefield. He's a strong combat unit, but, as you may have noticed, not overwhelmingly critical. We can still have a good chance of defeating him. And we can win even without him. Especially if we manage to get rid of the fodder, and Ment's kiting plan works. And, considering all the variables, the chances of success through the arena are higher than the chances of success through the mansion. So why not try the more statistically reliable option first? If you're afraid, you can buy information about the opponent(s) and then think about it based on what you see.

It's also possible that after Relkhiras wins, Revan will say, "Well, the new leader can't be a player character, so he goes under AI control."
I don't think Revan will do that. Especially since our goal isn't to become leaders, but to kill the leader in a duel and slip away.
