I believe that attacking the Nihon is suicide. They have only one unit type, so they will stand their ground and fight with all their might; they have Nihon bonuses and Bushido. And the Naliar only have a rabble and militia as their fighting forces. It's a trap mission, to use your term.

This is an important aspect, in my opinion. If the Nihon attack on their own, we can CONSIDER helping the defenders, but attacking them ourselves is a no-go.
