The AI has a priority order for its spells, and it only changes it when it feels like it's losing. As far as I remember, it has "Curse" as its highest priority spell. If we were to outscore it in terms of spell points, we could drain its mana each round by countering "Curse" with "Bless." And only then would we start attacking. But honestly, these losses are insignificant; this army will be sacrificed soon anyway.
