the updated version is better, but if you want to stay true to the lore, then Altgarde is better, either leave it as is or keep the main theme red, and you can experiment with the regular upgrade – usually, the standard upgrade adheres to gold tones, although this is more true for Heroes 6, and for 5 and 7 it is only partially true – in Heroes 5, the Haven upgrades have as many as four colors mixed together – gold, white, blue, and gray (the only faction with such a diverse color scheme). You can adjust them to something more specific.
