Something in between the Free League and the Hospitallers would be an ideal combination.

Right now, using the Order of Crusaders as an example of something that isn't "an army of fanatics" seems a bit off. I was leaning more towards a mercenary order, one that also serves the character's ambitions. There was also the idea of using a peacekeeping ideology as a cover. Something along the lines of, "We're doing all this for stability and peace, yes, yes." And these guys just didn't want to resolve things peacefully. What can you do? And we're taking this artifact so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Why are we using it ourselves? Well, it's for the good of Tiaral! But I'm not entirely sure about that yet. I don't think many people would be fooled by that.
