Which installment of the Heroes series had the best campaign storyline for you?
That's all well and good, but what does it have to do with the plot?
:) It all depends on what one understands by "plot." For me, the plot is the structure of the campaign itself. I read all the text before and during the campaign superficially, just to make sure there's nothing useful (no hints) for completing it. If there are any hints for completing it, then I read all the messages from the campaign carefully. In "The Gathering Storm," there's a great plot – five heroes in five campaigns must collect certain artifacts by defeating evil wizards who possess them. In the sixth campaign, these heroes meet up with their loot to defeat even stronger enemies. It's also cool that now these acquired artifacts can be redistributed among the heroes so that, according to each hero's skills, the effects of the artifacts can be enhanced, or everything can be given to the coolest one, and what doesn't fit can be distributed among the others. In other words, this plot forces the player to develop each hero in a certain way throughout all the campaigns, knowing which sets of artifacts he will receive at the beginning of the sixth campaign, and accordingly, he needs to decide who to develop, what magic to master, and what artifacts to give to whom in order to get the maximum effect from each of the heroes in the sixth campaign – otherwise, they'll just get crushed. And also, to successfully complete the sixth campaign, they need to try to stick together and not wander around alone. At least, this set of campaigns is the most playable – there's such a concept – and therefore, the storyline is also good, in my opinion
