The clash of desires and opinions of different people is a perfectly normal situation. Therefore, humanity has developed a large arsenal of tools for dealing with such situations – subordination, negotiation, democratic procedures, and much more. And the more socially developed a group is, the more effectively it applies this toolkit to achieve consensus/compromise.
