I think this is your subjective opinion (as a representative of the near-top player class). Only those who are lucky or beginners can benefit from a chess timer or a timer in battle, as a novice under time pressure won't be able to think or calculate anything. I state this authoritatively.

Let's assume a situation: a young and inexperienced (or not so young but experienced, but very clumsy) employee cannot keep up with the team's deadlines, and the next item on the agenda is a discussion about urgently increasing the deadline time for everyone! Of course, very authoritatively :smile42:, because quite a few people are not keeping up!!! Don't you see the catch? The problem isn't with those who are keeping up; I've said this many times. Time is also a resource; if you don't manage it properly, you will lose... that's all. The other question is when the absolute majority cannot keep up; then, you can start thinking about it.
