Based on your logic, Might and Magic VII is just a semi-finished product because almost everything was taken from Might and Magic VI.
Might and Magic VIII is very simple in itself, and with overpowered dragons, it's just an arcade game. A true Might and Magic player should complete Might and Magic VIII without using a dragon at all and not take the "Kauri Black Ship" at the beginning of the game.
Comrade Maur, don't speak for me. Might and Magic VII was reworked, and some elements were taken from Might and Magic VI, but Might and Magic VII and Might and Magic VIII are very similar, and the developers didn't put much effort into making the latter.

Do not judge, and you will not be judged.
And Railag has always been a dark elf; he just possessed Urgas magic, and Isabel didn't fall in love immediately; it happened later.
