Where did people learn to play Heroes?

I played King's Bounty back in some distant year (1992 or 1993 or 1994 - I don't remember) at a friend of my father's workplace on weekends. Of course, I wasn't very good at it. Then, in 1997, I played Heroes 2 on my own computer at home. And after that, it just kept going - Heroes 1, Heroes 3, Heroes 4, Heroes 5. I mostly played against the computer. Only after Heroes 3 came out did I sometimes play with friends in local multiplayer or on the same computer.
