Sacred Haven of Debauchery

Today I went to a shopping mall where a fire alarm went off. It was interesting to see that about three-quarters of the visitors simply waved their hands dismissively and ignored the evacuation. However, even the remaining people were enough to completely block the few fire exits, where rusty locks had been hastily removed and scotch-taped signs saying "do not touch!!" were stuck. Another exit was blocked by a mother with 5-6 children of a southern ethnicity, who apparently didn't understand Russian, and was trying with all her might to push her stroller up the narrow staircase, creating a living traffic jam. To conclude this boring story, a fire inspector (or someone like him), past whom I decided to "stroll," who was rubbing his mustache and watching as a lone fire truck was trying its best to squeeze through the designated (!) exit, told those who were asking that the "training alarm had passed successfully," and was probably writing the same thing in a notebook that he would then take to his superiors.
