Three Necropolis units, all vampires, were gathered, upgraded, and placed in a super town. They had a few stats, a single join from basilisks, and wings. I snatched a consultant from under my opponent's nose when he entered the same town and retreated home, picking up a chainmail gauntlet and a cartographer along the way. Joins were stubbornly difficult to come by, but I eventually managed to add a hundred basilisks and 66 vampires, which I immediately upgraded. In the final, there were exactly a hundred vamplords.
