Well, Thanatos aren't that important anyway; their main strength is the lightning strike, but their damage is weak, so you can basically take them out with a mage. But that's just the beginning; when the Orcs appear with their Cyclops, who will probably have 300 HP...

No, it doesn't fall; the thing is, they're not storming the Castle itself, but the passage to that staircase. Of course, it looks very funny, the walls in the middle of the desert suddenly end, as you can see in this screenshot. The question is, why not just go around it? Well, they just made fun of mages, or rather, of Eastern culture (remember the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad?). It's the same here. P.S. The regular images of the hero are made terribly, so a normal mage is Zehir; that's how he should look, just like a normal dwarf is Wulfsten...
