Having completed this assignment, Elrina felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, she felt relieved that the task had been accomplished in a certain sense, and although they had not managed to capture Rhys alive, the man who had started shooting at police officers in the middle of the city in broad daylight could certainly not be considered a law-abiding citizen of the empire. And no matter who he really was, the main thing was that she had been able to help the supporters of the current regime, which could give her the opportunity to prove herself and improve her reputation at court in the future. On the other hand, she was undoubtedly saddened by the deplorable state of the police and the city services in general, which were not only unable to protect their population, but even themselves, and had also allowed the appearance of some kind of unknown plague in the capital's sewers. Recalling the rats and other monsters, Elrina shivered. She hadn't paid much attention to such trivialities before, and it was no wonder, because life on the imperial street was fundamentally different from what was customary for commoners. But the main thing for her today was the sad fact of the murder of a living person. Training shooting at targets had nothing to do with aimed fire at a real enemy. And if it weren't for the deadly fatigue that had accumulated during the day of running around the capital, she would definitely not have been able to accept this reality so easily, in which she had voluntarily, albeit in self-defense, taken the life of an equal being.
