The Orcs want to save their brethren from slavery by humans and mages, and the demons want to conquer all of Ashan and rule it, so they decided to start with the remote islands, the wilderness. Lord Sandro, because they were in isolation on their islands and didn't interfere in battles, and besides, I came up with the idea to put them here, not Nival.:D
