Thanks to the restored trust of the people of Nihon in Onryo and the very confusing and complex situation in the empire, the rebels managed to gain control over a large number of southern territories in the region, as a result of which most members of Onryo left Raiju Island. Nevertheless, the base here was still an important stronghold for the liberation group, and there were still tasks that required solutions. For this reason, Tsukiko Shimizu, Kawahara Ren, Tachiki Rikia, Sawano Keiji, Ito Gen, and Iguchi Katsuhito were sent to Raiju, and since Ito Gen was the only one who had been here before, he was supposed to use his knowledge to guide the rest of the group. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived on the island, he was unable to do so: due to what appeared to be the curse of some sea spirit, the samurai was very ill and could not help his comrades in any way, and moreover, he himself needed help. Of course, due to the intense heat, he couldn't provide any useful information.
