Are there not enough tournaments for top players? It seems like every other tournament is only for the elite. Give other players a chance to play the game, instead of being eliminated after the first loss.

How does this relate to the fact that after a long (4 months) and, in many ways, very predictable group stage, there are only 2 best-of-one playoff rounds? Or did other players play with the "elite" for these 4 months, get eliminated, and now the "elite" can just flip a coin a couple of times before moving on to a more reasonable stage with best-of-three matches, since the deadline is approaching after these preliminary 4 months, right?
