Is it mandatory to install it on SoD??? Will WOG install on the "Platinum" version of Heroes???
This question has come up before, and I've asked many people about it. If installed correctly, it will work.
I'll now quote a Heroes player who sent me the instructions:

1. Download all WoG files and run the self-extracting RAR archive.
2. WoG may function incorrectly in Windows if the system language is not English (Russian). This likely happens with the Swedish language. Therefore, we recommend that you:
- check "Control Panel" -> "Language and Regional Settings" in Windows; if the language is English or Russian, everything is fine;
- otherwise, change the language to English (Russian) and the country to Canada, UK, Russia, or USA in "Control Panel" -> "Language and Regional Settings".
3. Make sure you have removed all other MODs and Add-ons from all Heroes folders (especially the Data folder). We recommend that you:
- make a full backup of your Heroes (SoD or HC);
- uninstall Heroes (SoD or HC);
- manually delete all files in the Heroes folder;
- install Heroes (SoD or HC) again in the same folder.

The full path to the Heroes (SoD or HC) folder must contain only LATIN CHARACTERS
(example: "C:\Games\Heroes3" is okay, "C:\Игры\Heroes3" is not).

4. Now run install.exe in the WoG download package. Follow the further instructions. Be patient — installation can take time (up to half an hour)!
5. After installing WoG, if you changed the regional language/country settings, you can change them back.
6. You can run either WoG (H3WOG.EXE) or SoD / HC (HEROES3.EXE), whichever you had. Both versions should work.
7. In addition to the original SoD / HC, you receive the WoG Map Editor (H3WMAPED.EXE).
- The WoG Map Editor can load RoE, AB, SoD, or WoG maps and save them as RoE, AB, or WoG;
- The WoG Map Editor cannot generate random maps; use the SoD editor for this purpose, then load the map into the WoG editor;
8. In addition to your SoD / HC campaign editor, you receive the WoG campaign editor (H3WCMPED.EXE).
9. You get a new folder in the Windows menu: "New Life of Heroes". Look there for the full list of tools and documentation.
10. If you download additional WoG files after your initial WoG installation, you do not need to reinstall WoG. Place the newly downloaded files in the UPDATE folder within the Heroes directory and run H3WUPD.EXE. The program will automatically find all new files and allow you to install them.

If that doesn't work… :
• Rename the folder with the installed Heroes so that there are no non-Latin letters in the path to the Heroes folder, place hmm3.reg in this folder, and run it.
• Check if Heroes launch. If they work — install WOG. If not, install Platinum in a new folder C:\Games\Heroes3 and run hmm3.reg from there again.

Good luck!

Download hmm3.reg
If you install TE, i.e., upgrade to TE, then it will be problematic to play Breath of Fire later. You'll have to reinstall again!
If you install them in different directories, each version of Heroes will launch separately. Personally, I installed them in the same location, simply duplicating the "data" folders. Whichever version I wanted to play, I copied that folder into the Heroes directory. But I believe there is a program that automatically moves the necessary folders and renames them (allowing you to launch any version of Heroes automatically). But it's better not to bother with that for now.
By the way, I ask the organizer to clarify regarding combined artifacts and the Grail. Also, if it's not too much trouble, explain how to make maps generate according to a specified template. Yesterday I tried creating maps with the randomizer. All sorts of templates are created, just not the one I need. Please provide more detail if possible: where are they defined, how to change them to the required one, etc.
