Player rating for tournaments across all installments of Heroes.
I suggested using a formula with 3 heroes and, in addition to that, modernizing it. This is done to take into account the player's skill, and not just to understand something. When modernizing the formula, it will be necessary to take into account the fact that you described.
Once again, I wish the next developer of the rating calculation system good luck in bringing the formula to the proper level.

Newcomers will have an additional incentive to improve their skills, and they may even be able to top the rating if circumstances are favorable next year:D So I am against the rating aging.
In this case, only the interests of newcomers are protected. Moreover, veterans are put on the same level as beginners (I mean veterans not only those who held the lead, but also those who were in the middle for a whole year). In general, the Player Rating does not imply a reset at the beginning of each year if you take your position and start using examples about cycling, motorcycle racing, and ping-pong :)

Dear IronAxe, Alex_R, AmberSoler and many others who are discussing this topic... Please provide a link(s) to the posts where the following system is discussed in detail: let's take Formula 1. One stage (one tournament) - some number of points... These points are summed up... This results in a leaderboard... It's not a bicycle, but still... P.S. I don't have much free time at the moment, so I can't search the topic... Thank you in advance to those who respond...
I also don't have time to search - I'll answer you anyway. This system is not bad if, for example, you calculate the entire Kanigam tournament according to it and select the finalists according to it. But how is this related to the Player Rating? According to this system, you can determine the finalists of the Kanigam tournament, but why not calculate the rating of each player in parallel with this, which is not directly related ONLY to the Kanigam tournament, because many other tournaments are held and ratings are also counted for them. It's just that many people are so confused that they themselves don't understand what they are calculating. They calculate the Player Rating to determine the finalists of the Kanigam tournament. And here it's the other way around - a tournament is played - the winners are determined - the players are given a rating (but the winners are not determined by the rating, they were determined before that :) And so for each stage :)
