He really didn't want to talk about his illness. There was hope, but we probably couldn't help him anymore, and certainly not with money. He did everything he could to fight his illness until the end, even moving to Israel, where he could receive the most qualified help! But medicine turned out to be powerless against such terrible diseases.

We communicated with them after Vova's death, and the topic was: if any support is needed, just say so; many Heroes players would be honored to help. He replied at that time: "Vova's family needs it more now; we can handle it ourselves for now..."

I met Artem a long time ago... at the first tournaments for fixed versions in St. Petersburg, which Horn organized. Back in 2002, or 2004, I can't even remember. It was so long ago that I know my close friends for fewer years.



I always wondered, how can he play Heroes for so long and not get bored!? He was a top player back then, and even in his last days, when the level of play had grown unimaginably, he remained one of the best and most experienced! It's amazing! How much you have to love Heroes and how devoted you have to be to it for so many years. I wouldn't be able to...



I heard that in the last months of his life, he was advised to stop playing computer games, Heroes, etc. To which he said:
