In short, some creatures had abilities removed that significantly enhanced them. As for recalculating the main parameters, it's hard to say – I don't know what you suggested before.

Well, I thought so too, that they just nerfed things, but deep down, I still hoped that they would actually do a real rebalancing, but alas...
