I've noticed that the computer prioritizes the explosion spell after slowing down the enemy, so if the Azure units aren't slowed, the computer will immediately attack them with the explosion. Regarding the author's intention: if the hero's secondary skills are randomly assigned, there won't be a universal tactic.

You can also periodically cast a spell to remove buffs on the Azure units while they are waiting, and then immediately cast a power field at the beginning of the next round. This will keep the computer busy with a cyclical casting of the same spells.
