In the first round, my opponent was using standard strategies.
In the first week, I took a risk and went for a Dwarf stronghold level 3-4, which turned out to be a major stronghold, but I quickly secured it with a Brissa, an Archer, and Orcs. There was also a hidden nest of birds on the resource tile; Brissa used magic to kill 8 birds and then I captured the stronghold. Only in the second week did I leave the resource tile. There were two exits: one leading towards the underground and the other along a rough path, but they were conveniently located close to each other. In the underground, I found 2 clues, and then a blocked path, but the rough path had many clues, and Brissa with mass haste was very effective at capturing them. On day 134, with Tyraxor, I took the first Utopia level 3, which contained a Knight-Captain, a +5 all stats sword, and a +4 all stats shield. Brissa was heading towards a very strong Pandora stronghold, but since my opponent's town was very close to mine, and Brissa was conveniently located near the resource tile, I decided to capture my opponent's main town with her, hoping that there was no army in the castle (some hero was in his castle) or at least no Crystal Ball. Brissa had 200 mana. I moved her to my opponent's castle, and there was a weak hero with 6 mana and the entire army. I attacked and immediately won. I arrived at just the right time, as there were Winged Beasts and 43 Ducks.
Thank you for playing!
Truly a rollercoaster game. During the restart phase, there was a map that didn't qualify as a tech restart, but it was absolutely unplayable as I had 1 gold piece and a sawmill, and an ore pit in my starting zone, then my opponent took 112. In the final game, I was blocked both ways by Horde Sharpshooters and lots of Medusa Queens. I built a town hall early and visited the witch hut with all my heroes, + Jenova, which resulted in almost 2k income. I had 3 Hives, 2 with easier guards. I beat them both, and both Hives were major strongholds, the only size I couldn't take. The 3rd Hive was guarded by 42 Monks, so I went off-road in the underground after beating 49 Crusaders guarding a Utopia. I found +1 speed and a mini Hive there, 2 prisons with not very useful heroes. With all the fighting, Kyrre leveled up nicely and got early expert air, so I built a guild and got mass haste. With this, I beat the Monks, but again, the Hive was a major stronghold, so I had to wait 2 more days for the new week's population, while I took a Naga bank with 20 Nagas. From 131, I started taking the big Hives, developed Alamar, who took lots of Utopia level 134. I got Wings, Titan Cuirass, and Boots of Levitation. The next day, my opponent killed me with a Death Dealer. I actually enjoyed this game despite the bad odds; I was hoping my opponent would not get air control, but that didn't happen.
