For the chance to get 30 dragons, you can also bring thieves along (if, of course, you don't have the See spell).

IMHO. It seems like a rather slim chance... and most importantly, thieves don't help with joining... but it takes a lot of effort...
It's a different story if a secondary hero with these thieves is running alongside the main hero, and occasionally transfers them to the main hero. But that also takes a lot of effort...
I wonder how often people use this tactic? And how often do they just "ignore" these thieves?
