I tend to agree with Marmot. "All Dota players are uncultured because they play Dota; they play Dota because they are uncultured" (quote). Or, paraphrasing a classic, "Games are to character as wind is to fire: they extinguish the small and fan the large." The problem is that there are clearly more people of the second type (as a simple visual analysis of most gaming forums and channels can eloquently demonstrate). The reasons for this situation are a separate and very complex topic.
