I think the extra game isn't a very good indicator; it would be better to get rid of this indicator in future tournaments. If a draw can't be held without it, then best-of-2 would still be a solution. I suggest holding the draw now so that, for example, your winner with GL plays against someone else, and so on, and then the winner of that pair plays against someone else. Then, players who finish earlier can play calmly without waiting.
