Well, that’s a well-known bug. Previously, players used to exploit it in online games by taking over Hive with a single Hydra. The trick is that Hydras attack the entire battlefield simultaneously, regardless of where the enemies are located. Moreover, they leave their clones behind when they move, which multiplies the damage and allows you to win battles that would otherwise be impossible.
P.S.: It was fixed in HD+.
Is there anywhere I can read more about the mechanics? I’m sending various information to the author of Physmig for the upcoming update. Physmig mentions this bug, but if there’s more detailed information, that would be even better.
By the way, in HD+, another bug related to Hydras and creatures with mass attack hasn’t been fixed: If a Hydra (or Cerberus) is under our hypnosis and we attack it with our creature, we receive 0 damage in return, i.e., the attack animation plays, but no damage is dealt.

If anyone wants to force the AI to cast hypnosis in battle:D
