If you're voting, at least take a look at the statistics for each of the candidates, otherwise it's just nonsense ;)

Statistics are just one of the criteria. For some, it may not be very important subjectively. As Armageddets rightly said, if the criteria were clearly defined, there would be no need for voting at all.
And none of the listed newcomers ended up on the list by chance; each of them (and each of them :smile20:) has their own unique trait, and for some, this trait is more important than anything else.
