You wouldn't call him ugly just from the picture. He probably just smells of unwashed feet and stale alcohol.

I wanted to say that in the portrait, only the face is visible, and he might have an ugly scar on his body or a flabby stomach. But then I thought the latter would sound like a Heroes joke.
