Helltrain - Afterglow
I remember reading a discussion about Iron Maiden on some forum. One guy said that Maiden's drummer couldn't even hold a candle to Mike Portnoy from (then) Dream Theater or the drummer from Death. To which another guy asked a brilliant question: "But why would Maiden need a drummer in the style of Dream Theater or Death?"
This is what I wanted to say. In Helltrain, the drums sound as if someone is, excuse me, banging a large wooden barrel with a club. And it sounds perfectly organic. Nothing else is needed.
