"ПОЛНЫЙ RANDOM - IV"

I've given it some thought.
I'm considering two options: double-elimination and a group stage with playoffs.

In the case of double-elimination:
- The upper and lower brackets are determined based on the results of randomly formed pairings;
- The 4 players who win the fastest in terms of game time advance to the upper bracket, and the remaining 6 go to the lower bracket;
- In the first round, pairings are determined randomly; in subsequent rounds, it's standard (the loser in the upper bracket moves to the lower bracket, and the player who loses twice is eliminated, etc.).
However, there seem to be too many games in the lower bracket. So, it's not ideal.

In the case of a group stage and playoffs:
- Groups are formed randomly with 3, 3, 3, and 4 players in each (but I think we'll soon "lose" III Imperator due to inactivity and the inability to quickly contact them for a game - they don't use ICQ).
- The players who finish 1st in each group advance directly to the playoffs.
- The players who finish 2nd and 3rd play tiebreakers, and 4 more players advance to the playoffs. Pairings are determined randomly.
- Then, there are semifinals and finals (pairings are determined randomly).
A small addition to the above-mentioned tournament format:
- In the group stage, you can play 2 games against each opponent.
- In the tiebreaker stage, the match is played to 2 wins, and the player who finished 2nd in the group stage has a 1-0 advantage at the start of the tiebreaker games.
- In the playoff stage (semifinals and finals), the match is played to 2 wins, and pairings are formed randomly.
The group draw will be based on skill levels: 3 tiers of skill. alex_nv has kindly agreed to conduct this draw, as well as all subsequent draws, on his channel tomorrow. The time will be announced later.
I suggest we finalize the tournament format; the tournament starts on Monday, December 25, 2017...
