Regarding the crosses - could you post a screenshot?

I'll repeat myself, but this is just a cheap trick designed to exploit morale. It might work after a couple of attempts, or it might not work even after fifty.

I have no idea why it would be interesting to spend time on it, because the level of interest/difficulty is demonstrated by the tournaments that were mentioned above.

I wasn't planning on completing it anyway. It seems quite simple at first glance, but why not solve some of the individual puzzles?
