Given the elf's nature, this task could simply fail, not to mention the elf's ambiguous attitude towards magic and almost everything related to it. So, in the end, only the fourth option remained, which initially seemed unworthy for an imperial officer, even a former one. But considering his situation and the lack of other options, he had to agree. After all, this was also a kind of service to his country, just not in the usual place, if you consider him a military man. But the task itself was quite clear - to eliminate creatures that threaten the safety of the city and its inhabitants. As it turned out later, he would have to work with female representatives, some of whom he knew to some extent.
