How can we save the "Heroes" theme?

Spam will never die. Sometimes people get tired of discussing which creature of level 7 is the best. That's why there's a chat, to draw some of the spam away from the main topics.

They will still defend it.

But how else? This isn't a technical forum (although there's a lot of spam in those too), it's a forum based on interests, and spam and off-topic discussions are unavoidable here, so it needs to be organized somehow.
