Actually, I was initially leaning towards developing water magic for healing and purification instead of military skills. Luckily, thanks to Arza's recommendation, I wrote to Plesen and avoided that mistake.

I mentioned this so that you wouldn't say "you're just annoyed that you failed the quest," but instead critically look at the balance. Without the Academy, you would have been defeated in the palace much earlier. Less often than a mage of any other race, but still more often than you were defeated now.
