Yeah. So, there were also cases where people refused to play in the Final Battle, and someone from the lower ranks took their place in the tournament? Were there any real instances of that?
At least 7, and what's the maximum? Well, we've been asked to calculate it, and I think I can handle that.
Right now, four people already have 21+ points (Buvli, Antiplayer, and two more will rise from the pairs, who currently have 18). Another 10 people (5 pairs) will play against each other in the last round, all having 18+. Five of them will win, meaning at least 5 more people will have 21+ points at the end of the tournament. In total, 4+5=9 people will have 21+ points at the end of the tournament. They are out of reach for those who have 15 points after 8 rounds (including me).
Plus, due to early losses, my rating is terrible, and among those who finish the tournament with 18 points, there will be at least 5 more people with a higher rating. And hoping that they won't be there because they'll withdraw (because, like me, they have no chance) is pointless - these will be the 5 people who lose in pairs in the last round with 18+ points - and they won't withdraw because they still have a chance to qualify for the Final Battle until the very end.
In total, we already have 14-15 people who will definitely be above me at the end of the tournament. This is already known. There's no mystery here. And no guarantees are needed from anyone.
Is there a chance to qualify for the Final Battle from 15th place?
Of course, there is! Dirty and I will try to disqualify 8 players ahead of you, but please, play the last round :smile41:

Actually, this clearly needs its own topic...;)
