If you want to level up Godrick to level 24, the easiest way to do it is by using a hero. When I used a Warrior, my Godrick explored the entire territory and only reached level 20. You can't summon Demons, and those that do appear immediately flee the battlefield. However, every week, at least two level 22 Demons with decent armies would arrive to level up the heroes and prevent the army from growing to an excessive size. And they behaved like heroes – none of them left the battlefield. True, at the beginning of the mission, I sent my favorite, Godrick, without an army to collect unguarded resources. He was too weak against level 22 heroes. Isabel fought with almost her starting army until the warehouse and capitol were built, as there was no money to buy troops. Fortunately, Godrick gave her all the army entrusted to him, without losing a single soldier. I took the Dungeon earlier than the Castle, and Isabel took the Castle, Outpost, and nearby mines. First, she captured the lumber mill, mine, and gold mine. After capturing all the nearby mines, Isabel hid behind the high fence of the Castle for a long time and focused on training. Only after each battle did she make a quick run along the route: Castle-Flag-Castle. Sometimes she also collected monks and griffons from the Outpost. When Isabel had an army large enough to repel any enemy, she shared troops with Godrick, and he went to explore the territory, conquer obelisks and mines, and, of course, level up.
