If two out of 99 readers died, then the chance of the hundredth reader dying is 5%. It doesn't increase because these events are independent.
No! The probability that if you read a book a million times and then die is almost 1. But – if you've read the book 999,999 times and haven't died, then the probability of dying on the millionth read is still 5%!
I would read it myself in an accessible form somewhere if I wanted to spend time on it.
I took a course in probability theory at university and read one book. That was enough; I don't want to anymore.
