In the first game, there was a hidden stash of unicorns, stables, mountains of gold, and a pre-max creature on day 111. But, as I predicted, playing Anarchy with the Hive is masochism, and that's exactly what happened; we started a new game. And what is this totalitarian concern for noobs who can't remember the rules?
The start was rich; I built houses and a castle, even had some joins – everything went into a conquest-3, and then poverty struck immediately, barely enough for expansion.
On day 2, I seemed to be working efficiently, but I only found 2 Hives and 50 swordsmen, only 6 angels. Due to the poverty, I started building a Grand Mage only on day 127, taking the only Nagabanks, and couldn't even afford a speed amulet near the road.
On day 131, deep in the treasury, I found a pre-max Utopia, with a +4+4 vest, a similar hat, and a Crown of Knowledge – very good.
But then everything became depressing again; I walked along the road for a week and only found a Utopia with a +12-3 shield and 50 swordsmen. At the end of the week, I took the lower Cataphract, and the next turn, my opponent took him and set him up as bait. In the first battle (opponent had AOTD+K), I killed half of his army, but he already had control; he immediately joined another 30 Griffin and 30 Manticores, set them up as bait again, and in the second battle, I killed fewer – the opponent was hitting with magic, and I had nothing. Towards the end, I blinded 2 of his stacks and was preparing to kill the 3rd – but I misclicked and took another hit, and the opponent retreated to take half of the castles in the next few turns.
Neither logistics nor air units were offered. The 3rd upgrade – 6 level 5 spells – only gave me Fly. I walked around as the main hero for another week, gathering resources, and on the 5th upgrade, I got Double Damage, but it was a bit late; the map was a mess.
Thanks for the game, I regret playing with the Hive; the opponent played very well under time pressure.
I played like a complete idiot, twice I really wanted the opponent to win, and I set myself up as bait as if on purpose. The second time, I could have lost my main hero and the game, but the opponent also made a mistake and attacked the golems with the wrong stack, which saved me... I wasn't setting myself up as bait on purpose, but simply experiencing brain lags when there were 30 seconds left on the timer, and one of my main heroes hadn't even moved yet!! (aka Amiloo style). Then I adapted to these 44 Double Damage units and so on, leveled up my 3rd support hero, and it became easier. I stopped making big mistakes, started managing to do what I intended, and managed to win. This was the most difficult game for me in a long time. The streams on Reddit didn't prepare me for the combat conditions. I don't have much experience with Anarchy as such.
Thanks for the game.
