I've said it before. They played soccer – it was a draw. Who cares if someone ran more beautifully. The main criterion for victory is equality – a draw. Is that really so unfair?

And in the tournament bracket, there are many secondary criteria for advancing from the group, and I think you know them. And the winner of a match can be eliminated from the bracket, while the loser remains. This maintains the intrigue. You want to remove it from the calculation. In soccer, running beautifully isn't necessary; it won't help. But knowledge of logistics will allow you to gather more resources (for example). There's a bonus for knowledge of the game. What does running have to do with it?
